It's Time to Help One of Our Own

Movember is a fundraising campaign that we have been a part of for the past five years.!! The Movember Foundation is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. They are addressing some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Meet my oldest son Jason!! We all have men in our lives that are very important to us......fathers, husbands, brothers, sons, uncles, friends. Their physical and mental health matter. In 2018 my son Jason signed up to be a Mo-Bro to raise money for the Movember campaign. He came to me and asked if I had any ideas. He wanted to do more than just ask his family and friends to donate. He wanted to make a real difference.

Together, with Two Scrapbook Friends as his platform, he has raised over $15000.00 over the past 5 years. We are very proud of him but this year we are asking for help to raise money for him. In September Jason shattered his kneecap and had to have surgery to reconstruct his knee. Since then he has been housebound and unable to work. This year we are reaching out to all of our scrapbook friends to help raise money for Jason.

Jason is back again this year with another AMAZING Christmas card promotion. Over the last 5 years Jason has sold thousands of cards with ALL the proceeds going directly to his Movember campaign.

On Sunday, September 24th, Jason was playing recreation ball hockey and took a very hard hit into the boards. He landed on his knee and it was shattered. He has had surgery to reconstruct his knee and we are hoping when he visits the surgeon this Friday he will begin his journey to a full recovery. Jason started his own home renovation business in November 2021. He is self employed and therefore has no income to support himself during his recovery. He doesn't have benefits to cover the costly physio treatments.

Jason has dedicated the last 5 years to raising money for others so we thought that this year we could help a bro out!!!

This years card is designed to spread joy. We hope you will feel joyful knowing you have helped Jason with his road to recovery. You will feel JOY while you are making your cards. Whoever you give them to will feel JOY knowing you made a card just for them. Do you see what is happening here????? There is JOY all around.

Each kit was manufactured and assembled completely by his mom!! Unfortunately Jason is unable to sit in a chair for any length of time so I took on the task for him. It is a labour of love. Your kit will include all the materials including your card base, layering papers PLUS the custom die-cuts shown. You can create your own snowfall background using a stencil you may have or by splattering ink/paint on the kraft paper. You can also leave it blank for a more clean and simple effect.

Carolyn will do a Facebook live and assemble a card to show you how it goes together. She will even share some tips to elevate your design even further if you like. We will announce the date soon.

The 'Help-A-Bro' Christmas card kit will sell for $5 (No Tax) and ALL (100%) of the sales will go directly to Jason's recovery.
